THIS was owned by Paul Taylor.

It is a title deed, issued when Edward I was king. He reigned between 1272 and 1307.

We can be a little more precise when dating this item. One of the things Edward did was keen on was reforming royal administration and common law. Since 1305 for a deed to be valid it had to be signed, which this one isn't so it dates before then

It is on vellum and written in Latin. We do have a handwritten version of what it says but even that is not clear in places. If you fancy a go at translating, let us know and we'll email the transcription on to you.
